Medhat Saleh to headline closing of Citadel International Festival

The 34th edition of the Citadel International Festival for Music and Song concludes on Monday, August 24, 2026, at the Saladin Citadel in Cairo. The closing ceremonies feature two consecutive performances at the Mahka stage.

Marimba player Nesma Abdel Aziz and her band will perform at 8:00 PM, presenting a repertoire of famous Arabic and Western compositions, including folk music and popular tracks. Following this, singer Medhat Saleh will perform at 10:00 PM accompanied by conductor and pianist Amr Selim and his orchestra. Saleh is expected to perform a selection of his most famous works alongside classical Arabic musical heritage.

The festival, organized by the Cairo Opera House, has run since August 15. To ensure accessibility for a wide audience, the management set the ticket price for the closing concert at 100 Egyptian pounds.
