Media and culture awards announced in Austria

The shortlists for the 2026 Media Award have been announced, featuring 28 works selected from 56 entries across four categories: media strategy, media innovation, data usage, and sustainability in media. Mediaplus Austria leads the nominations with eight entries for clients including Hornbach and the Austrian Red Cross. Mindshare follows with four nominations, while Media 1 and Wavemaker each have three.

In Lower Austria, the 2026 Culture Prizes have been revealed, honoring 24 artists, associations, and institutions across eight categories. Notable recipients include writer Georg Bydlinski for literature, composer Johanna Doderer for music, and Frenzi Rigling for visual arts. The awards recognize diverse contributions to architecture, adult education, folk culture, and media art throughout the region.
