Media Centar files complaint against RTCG over pensioner coverage

The non-governmental organization Media Centar has filed a complaint with the Ombudsman of Radio Television of Montenegro (RTCG). The complaint alleges that the national public broadcaster failed to report information of public interest during the “Dnevnik 2” news program broadcast on September 22, 2026.

The omitted information concerns the positions of two pensioner associations, “Pokret penzionera Crne Gore” and “Za dostojanstven život čovjeka,” regarding the government's newly promoted “Euro model” program. The associations stated they welcome measures that raise standards but oppose growth built on eliminating the current income base for over 130,000 beneficiaries without a public sustainability analysis.

Media Centar argues that RTCG’s selective approach violates professional standards of objectivity, credibility, and fairness, as well as the broadcaster's own rules regarding timely and balanced reporting.
