Media companies secure international rights for new film and series

In the entertainment industry, several international distribution deals have been secured for upcoming film and television projects.

Rapt Films has acquired worldwide distribution rights, excluding North America, for the teen comedy ‘Edie Arnold Is A Loser’. Directed by Megan Rico and Kade Atwood, the film follows a shy student who becomes a rebel icon after forming a punk band. The production, by Infigo Films, has previously won the Golden Space Needle Award at the Seattle International Film Festival.

Separately, DCD Rights has announced international buyers for the crime series ‘The Last to Disappear’, based on the novel by Jo Spain. ITV has secured the rights for the United Kingdom, while Acorn TV will broadcast the six-part production in North America. The series follows an Irish lobbyist investigating the suspicious death of his sister in Lapland.
