Media Companies WPP and Unidad Editorial Report First‑Half Revenue Declines
British advertising group WPP posted first‑half 2026 revenue of £6.373 billion, a 4.4% drop from the same period a year earlier, while its operating profit rose 18.1% to £261 million, improving its operating margin to 4.1%. Chief Executive Cindy Rose said the results reflect cost‑saving measures and the early stages of the company’s Elevate28 restructuring plan.
Spanish media publisher Unidad Editorial recorded revenue of €102.4 million for January‑June 2026, 1.2% lower than a year earlier, and EBITDA fell 5.7% to €16.4 million. The group highlighted growth in digital subscriptions, with El Mundo reaching 197,000 paid users and Expansión adding 143,000, as it seeks to offset weaker advertising income and rising operating costs.
