Media organizations host community outreach events in Germany

Various media organizations are conducting community outreach events to engage directly with the public.

In Vilseck, Germany, Oberpfalz-Medien is hosting the eleventh stop of its ‘Redaktion on Tour’ series. On August 20, staff members will be available at the Edeka Kredler parking lot to discuss editorial processes, answer questions about local reporting, and collect new topic suggestions from residents.

In Friedberg, the ‘hessenschau’ pop-up newsroom from Hessischer Rundfunk (hr) is returning for a one-day event on August 17. Located at dasgute. haus, the initiative aims to listen to citizens' concerns, feedback, and local issues. The event includes opportunities for dialogue with local officials and hr program director Julia Krittian to follow up on community requests made during previous visits.
