Media professionals in Chad and Guinea focus on ethics and regulation

In Chad, Técôr Média held an internal session to share knowledge gained from a training program organized by Canal France International (CFI) and MediAOS. The training focused on combating disinformation, fact-checking, and digital tool mastery to address the challenges of social media influence and political pressure. Journalists were trained in distinguishing facts from opinions, protecting sources, and using digital verification tools such as InVID and Yandex.

In Guinea, the Haute Autorité de la Communication (HAC) presented its general report regarding the regulation of media campaigns during the 2025 presidential and 2026 legislative and communal elections. HAC President Boubacar Yacine Diallo stated that the institution’s role is to apply laws and protect journalists rather than to censor. The report praised the professionalism of the media, noting that the deployment of rural radios and regional supervisors helped maintain a peaceful environment without recorded incidents or complaints.
