Media Trust Group to launch converged digital newsroom in Abuja

Media Trust Group (MTG) is set to launch its Converged Digital Newsroom on Thursday, October 22, 2026, at its corporate headquarters in Abuja. The technology-driven initiative aims to integrate editorial operations across various platforms, including Daily Trust, Trust TV, Trust Radio, Aminiya, and Digital Trust.

The new newsroom will utilize digital technologies, such as artificial intelligence (AI) tools, to support editorial workflows, content production, and news distribution. According to Group CEO Ahmed I. Shekarau, the move is a strategic investment to build a more connected and sustainable media organization capable of meeting changing audience needs while maintaining journalistic accountability.

High-profile attendees expected at the launch include the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Alhaji Mohammed Idris, the Deputy Senate President, Senator Jibrin Barau, and the governors of Yobe, Borno, Adamawa, Gombe, and Jigawa states. The event will also host leadership from major private sector clients, including Zenith Bank, FirstBank, Dangote Group, Globacom, and Jaiz Bank.
