Mediacorp expands Singapore-South Korea content partnerships

Mediacorp is expanding its regional co-production strategy through new partnerships focused on the growing microdrama and romantic comedy markets in Singapore and South Korea.

In a new collaboration, Mediacorp, Studio S, and the short-form platform Soonshot will develop a four-title slate of microdramas. The first project is a short-form adaptation of the SBS romantic comedy ‘Still 17’. These productions will feature both Singaporean and Korean actors and are intended for mobile-first viewing on Mediacorp’s platforms and Soonshot, with plans for international distribution.

Additionally, Mediacorp is co-producing the 12-episode romantic comedy ‘Collateral Romance’ alongside Korean investment company Blintn and Bigwave Entertainment. Supported by the Infocomm Media Development Authority of Singapore, the series was filmed in both countries and features a cast including South Korean actors Kim Myung-soo and Pyo Ye-jin, alongside Singaporean actress Gladys Bay.
