MediaLab to host journalism training in Catanzaro
The MediaLab training program will hold its first stage on October 15 and 16 at the Cittadella Regionale in Catanzaro, Calabria. This initiative is designed for journalists and communicators to promote inclusive and non-discriminatory language, specifically regarding migration and labor exploitation, known as ‘caporalato’.
The program is part of the Su. Pr. Eme. 2 project, funded by the Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund 2021-2027, as well as FSE+ and FESR 2021-2027. A key module, titled ‘CAP-iamo insieme: conoscere per raccontare l’immigrazione e lo sfruttamento lavorativo’, will be led by experts from the Centro Studi e Ricerche IDOS.
This session aims to provide professionals with the tools to understand the complexities of labor exploitation and its connection to migration dynamics. The training will cover legal frameworks, protection pathways, and local services to help media professionals report on these issues with greater rigor and awareness.
