Mediaset documentary series explores historical figures

The documentary series ‘Giganti – I protagonisti della storia’, produced by Mediaset and hosted by Toni Capuozzo, is airing on Rete 4. The program features deep dives into historical figures who shaped the world.

The second episode, scheduled for September 6, focuses on Queen Elizabeth II. The program explores her 70-year reign, her role as a global symbol, and lesser-known aspects of the monarchy, including the economic impact of the Windsor family and the case of spy Anthony Blunt. Contributors include former bodyguard Richard Griffin and various journalists and writers.

The series concludes on September 20 with an episode dedicated to Leonardo da Vinci. Filmed on location in Vinci, including the Museo Leonardiano and Leonardo’s birthplace in Anchiano, the episode highlights the genius's connection to his hometown. Other episodes in the four-part series include coverage of Pope John Paul II and John F. Kennedy.
