Mediaset overhauls Real Politik and adds Milo Infante show as Rai's Belve program confronts backstage tension

Mediaset clarified that the current affairs program Real Politik on Rete 4 will not be cancelled, but will undergo a deep transformation and be strengthened with a new format, possibly moving to a weekend slot. The future role of host Tommaso Labate remains undecided.

At the same time, Mediaset is preparing a daily morning program for journalist Milo Infante, tentatively scheduled between 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m., positioning him in direct competition with Rai’s Storie Italiane. Infante will leave his former Rai show Ore 14, which will be taken over by Salvo Sottile.

Rai confirmed that Francesca Fagnani’s interview programme Belve will return for a new season from 20 October to 1 December 2026, together with the spin‑off Belve Crime. However, reports from journalist Giuseppe Candela indicate a “very tense” backstage climate, noting Fagnani’s absence from the schedule presentation and warning that “the climate would be anything but calm.” This has raised speculation that the autumn launch of Belve could be at risk, possibly linked to recent personnel changes such as Milo Infante’s departure from Rai.
