Mediaset has reportedly recorded a secret pilot episode of the classic quiz show Passaparola, updating the set with a modern blue design while preserving the iconic wheel‑letter format. The test aims to strengthen Canale 5’s pre‑evening lineup, but the project faces a legal hurdle after a Madrid Court of Appeal ruling halted the Spanish version Pasapalabra, sparking a dispute with the format’s original owner, ITV. Mediaset is said to be exploring the purchase of only the final‑wheel mechanism rights to sidestep the broader copyright issues.

Meanwhile, the Italian game show La Ruota della Fortuna continued its summer run on 25 June 2026, hosted by Gerry Scotti.
