Mediaset revives classic quiz shows on Canale 5

Mediaset has unveiled its 2026‑27 programming slate for its flagship channel Canale 5, centering the schedule on nostalgic quiz formats. The revived game shows “Ok il prezzo è giusto” and “Passaparola” will return to the preserale slot, aiming to attract viewers familiar with the classic titles while updating graphics and production values.

The line‑up also includes new fiction series such as the third season of “Viola come il mare”, alongside other drama titles and a fresh sports offering that will continue to broadcast the Coppa Italia and Supercoppa. Additional new formats are planned, including a game show hosted by Michelle Hunziker and the Spanish‑origin celebrity contest “El Desafío”. The strategy blends nostalgia with fresh content to strengthen Canale 5’s early‑evening attraction.

Mediaset positions the schedule as a mix of short‑form entertainment, recognizable brands and streaming‑linked productions, signalling a broader effort to retain audience share amid competition from on‑demand platforms.
