Mediaset uses AI to respond to viral fan video

Mediaset and the program Verissimo have released an artificial intelligence-generated promotional video featuring a virtual version of CEO Pier Silvio Berlusconi. The video serves as a response to a viral TikTok trend started by Rita Marchetiello, a homemaker from Naples.

Marchettiello, known on social media as @esauRita, gained widespread attention after posting a Neapolitan song—utilizing AI elements—to jokingly protest the suspension of the Turkish soap opera ‘Far Away’ from the Canale 5 schedule. In her original appeal, she expressed how the series provided a necessary escape from her daily domestic responsibilities.

The official Mediaset response features an AI-generated Berlusconi dancing to a Neomelodic song and announcing that the remaining episodes of the soap opera will be broadcast, addressing the concerns of the ‘turchine’ community of Turkish drama fans.
