Mediaset's 'Volevo un Figlio Maschio' tops Italian TV ratings on Aug 4, 2026

Auditel data for Tuesday, 4 August 2026 shows Mediaset’s Canale 5 comedy ‘Volevo un Figlio Maschio’ captured a 20.6 % share, leading both prime‑time and access‑time audiences in Italy. Rai 1’s drama ‘Un Matrimonio di Troppo’ lagged with a 9.5 % share on the same night.

Other notable performances included the European Swimming Championships on Rai 2, which reached around a 7 % share, and Rai 3’s documentary ‘Il Coraggio di Essere Franco’ at 4.8 %. Rete 4, Italia 1, La 7, TV8 and other channels recorded shares between 2 % and 5 %.
