MediaTek announces Dimensity 9600 Pro flagship and Helio G99+ budget chips
MediaTek has announced a dual-track update to its processor lineup, targeting both the high-end flagship market and the budget 4G segment.
On September 15, the company will debut its new flagship Dimensity 9600 Pro. Expected to utilize TSMC’s 2nm N2P manufacturing process, the chip aims to provide high efficiency and performance. Key features include support for 4K video recording at 240fps, hardware-accelerated ray tracing, and AI-enhanced graphics via an upgraded HyperEngine. The Pro model is expected to feature an eight-core CPU with clock speeds reaching up to 4.55 GHz.
Simultaneously, MediaTek introduced the Helio G99+ for the budget smartphone market. While maintaining the 6nm architecture and core configuration of the original Helio G99, the G99+ introduces support for faster LPDDR5X memory (up to 5,500 Mbps) and 120 Hz refresh rate displays. This update is designed to improve multitasking and smoothness in affordable 4G devices without significantly increasing costs.
