Healthcare technology advances through AI and automation

Technological advancements and artificial intelligence are reshaping healthcare across various regions. In Spain, researchers within the CIBERNED network are using AI and transcriptomics to identify unique molecular signatures in blood that could serve as biomarkers for Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), offering a less invasive diagnostic alternative to brain tissue sampling.

In Mexico, digital health is evolving as AI platforms like Doctoralia integrate conversational agents to assist patients in finding specialists. However, studies indicate challenges in breast cancer awareness, where many women face barriers to preventative care despite recognizing its importance. Meanwhile, in China, there is a strategic push to digitalize the entire healthcare system via mobile platforms to bridge urban-rural gaps.

In Chile, medical facilities are adopting automation and AI to manage rising health demands. The Hospital Clínico Herminda Martín has implemented a robotic chain to process over 4,400 exams daily, while AI algorithms are being utilized in hospitals to accelerate the detection of respiratory complications in children during periods of high virus circulation.
