Medical AI advancements in radiology and clinical pharmacy

Medical artificial intelligence is seeing expanded applications in both radiology and pharmacy. Crescom announced its participation in the 82nd Korean Congress of Radiology (KCR 2026), where it will showcase a full lineup of musculoskeletal AI solutions. These include tools for analyzing bone age, knee osteoarthritis, scoliosis, limb alignment, and wrist fractures. Notably, its knee osteoarthritis solution is being officially applied to the review processes of the Health Insurance Review and Assessment Service. Crescom is also introducing 'MediAI-AS', a new software designed to automatically analyze X-ray images to evaluate the progression of ankylosing spondylitis.

In the field of pharmacy, researchers at Incheon St. Mary's Hospital have developed an integrated clinical evidence search system that utilizes generative AI. According to a study published in the Journal of the Korean Society of Health-System Pharmacists, the system integrates various medical databases like PubMed and ClinicalTrials.gov. Testing showed that the AI-driven system reduced literature search time by 68.5% and decreased the time required for searching equivalent doses for multi-drug comparisons by 78.3% compared to traditional methods.
