Medical breakthrough improves survival rates for advanced melanoma
A new medical breakthrough has shown significant promise in treating advanced malignant melanoma, a highly aggressive form of skin cancer. While early detection offers high cure rates, the disease becomes much more difficult to manage once it has metastasized to other parts of the body.
Researchers have found success using a combination of two drugs: pembrolizumab and intismerán. Pembrolizumab functions as an immunotherapy that stimulates the body's natural defenses to attack malignant cells, while intismerán utilizes mRNA technology to target the disease. This combined approach has demonstrated the ability to significantly increase survival rates in patients with non-initial stages and helps prevent the recurrence of the cancer.
