Medical caravans provide free healthcare to rural Romanian communities

Various medical outreach initiatives are providing free healthcare services to rural and underserved communities in Romania.

In Buzău, the City Hall organized a medical caravan in the Roma community of Simileasca at the Mihail Kogălniceanu Gymnasium. The initiative included 11 doctors and volunteers who provided free consultations and medical analyses to 150 beneficiaries, including 50 children. The program also featured interactive workshops for children through the ‘School in the Park’ project.

In Prahova County, the ‘Health for Villages’ campaign, led by volunteers from the National Cathedral Chapel, reached the locality of Parepa. Specialists provided free consultations in internal medicine, diabetology, orthopedics, cardiology, gastroenterology, ophthalmology, and psychiatry. Patients also received EKG tests and ultrasounds. Organizers noted a significant need for psychiatric and metabolic evaluations among the rural population.
