Medical cases in Vinh Long involve removal of large tumors

Medical professionals in Vietnam have successfully performed surgeries to remove significant tumors from two different patients in the Vinh Long region.

At Xuyen A Vinh Long General Hospital, surgeons performed laparoscopic surgery on a 13-year-old girl to remove a 6cm ovarian cyst. The patient had experienced sudden abdominal pain, prompting emergency care. The surgical team focused on removing the entire cyst while preserving as much healthy ovarian tissue as possible to protect future reproductive functions.

In a separate case, doctors at Can Tho Oncology Hospital removed a 12kg retroperitoneal tumor from a male patient. The patient had noticed his abdomen increasing in size over the past year but initially attributed it to weight gain. Clinical imaging revealed the mass extended from below the liver to the lower abdomen, compressing internal organs. Doctors are monitoring the case to determine if the mass is a lipoma or a liposarcoma.
