Medical centers introduce advanced MRI technology in Sri Lanka and Indiana

Hemas Capital Hospital in Thalawathugoda, Sri Lanka, has launched the country’s first MRI scanner equipped with Siemens Healthineers’ Deep Resolve artificial intelligence technology. The MAGNETOM Sola 1.5T system utilizes AI to reconstruct images, allowing for faster scans with higher resolution. For example, brain examinations can potentially take half the time of conventional scans, and certain bile-duct examinations can be completed in approximately 13 seconds. This technology aims to improve comfort for children, elderly patients, and those with claustrophobia.

In southern Indiana, Schneck Medical Center has added the GE HealthCare SIGNA Artist MRI system to its diagnostic services. The new system features a 70-centimeter wide-bore design to reduce patient anxiety and utilizes AIR coil technology, which uses lightweight, flexible coils that conform to the patient’s body. The system also employs artificial intelligence to enhance image clarity and reduce scan times, assisting physicians in more precise diagnoses.
