Medical Chamber investigates allegations against Dragan Babić

The Medical Chamber of Herzegovina-Neretva Canton has addressed allegations regarding the inappropriate behavior of Professor and psychiatrist Dragan Babić. Reports in the media and on social networks suggest Babić engaged in behavior that insulted individuals based on their national identity.

The Chamber stated that any behavior that violates human dignity or promotes intolerance and discrimination based on nationality, ethnicity, or religion is contrary to the fundamental values and professional standards of the medical profession. However, the Chamber emphasized that responsibility cannot be determined solely through media reports and requires a formal investigation to establish the facts.

Official documentation reveals that Dragan Babić has not held a license for independent work since May 16, 2023, due to his status as a retiree. Furthermore, he is not currently practicing medicine within the Herzegovina-Neretva Canton. The Chamber indicated it will act in accordance with professional ethics and regulations if a formal complaint is filed and will inform the public of the outcome once the proceedings are concluded.
