Medical conferences in Spain address brain stimulation and stroke care

The National Hospital of Paraplegics (HNP) in Toledo will host the 2026 Brain Stimulation Conference on November 5 and 6. Organized by the Spanish Association of Brain Stimulation, the event will bring together specialists from Spain, the United Kingdom, and Italy to discuss research regarding the brain, spinal cord, and neuromodulation applications.

Key topics include the reorganization of the cerebral cortex following spinal cord injuries and the current perspectives on non-invasive nervous system stimulation. The program will also explore how movement is learned and controlled, including the role of connections between the cerebellum and the cerebral cortex.

Separately, the Aproni International Foundation held the first Aproni-Semergen Conference in Écija. The event focused on improving the socio-sanitary care pathway for individuals living with disabilities resulting from a stroke. Medical and social professionals discussed the necessity of coordination between primary care and social-health resources to ensure continuous medical follow-up and rehabilitation after hospital discharge.
