Medical congresses held in Machala and Riobamba

Ecuador is hosting two significant medical gatherings focused on specialized practice and intercultural health.

In Machala, the IV International Congress of Medical Specialties has commenced. Organized by the Colegio de Médicos de El Oro, the event features over 100 national and international specialists. The three-day congress aims to facilitate scientific updating, the exchange of clinical experiences, and the analysis of new therapeutic alternatives to improve specialized medical care.

Simultaneously, in Riobamba, the I Plurinational Congress of Intercultural Health, Research, and Dialogue of Knowledge is bringing together more than 350 professionals. Promoted by the Ministry of Public Health (MSP), this congress focuses on creating a technical roadmap to improve sanitary services through an intercultural lens. The event includes representatives from indigenous, Afro-Ecuadorian, and Montubio communities, aiming to integrate cultural and territorial realities into the national healthcare system.
