Medical Council official warns of risks from unqualified practitioners

Yedallah Sohrabi, head of the Medical Council of Nowshahr, has warned against the dangers posed by unqualified individuals practicing medicine. He noted that these ‘pseudo-doctors’ engage in unauthorized medical interventions, illegal drug prescription, and deceptive advertising, which can lead to delayed diagnoses, serious complications, financial loss, and even death.

Sohrabi emphasized that combating this issue requires a coordinated effort across multiple sectors. He called upon the police and judicial authorities to identify and prosecute illegal activities, while the Ministry of Health, medical universities, and health networks must oversee services, report suspicious cases, and verify the professional credentials of practitioners to prevent unauthorized medical activities.
