Medical emergencies reported involving children in Mexico and Spain

Two separate medical emergencies involving children have been reported in Mexico and Spain.

In Sinaloa, Mexico, two siblings from Choix are recovering from rickettsia, a disease typically transmitted by tick bites. The 12-year-old patient was discharged from the Hospital General de Los Mochis last week following a period of multi-organ failure. The younger sibling, aged three, remains hospitalized but is reported to be stable and no longer requires mechanical ventilation.

In Lanzarote, Spain, a five-year-old boy was airlifted in critical condition to the Hospital Universitario Materno Infantil in Gran Canaria after nearly drowning in a hotel pool in Yaiza. Emergency services performed advanced resuscitation maneuvers that successfully restored the child's pulse before his urgent aerial transfer.
