Non-governmental organizations and civic groups have provided medical supplies to hospitals in Guinea and Senegal to support local healthcare services.
In Boké, Guinea, the NGO Guinée Solidarité donated medical equipment to the Boké Regional Hospital. The donation includes five hospital beds, five mattresses, two stools, and a dental chair with accessories. Hospital Director Dr. Sékou Naba Camara noted that the equipment will help address bed shortages, particularly in the pediatric department.
In Guédiawaye, Senegal, the Rotary Club Dakar, in partnership with the association ‘Les porteurs de flambeau’, donated supplies valued at approximately 6 million CFA francs to the pediatric oncology department of Dalal Diam Hospital. The donation consists of mattresses, sheets, towels, medication, food, and disinfection equipment. Dr. Fatou Binetou Diagne highlighted the ongoing need to decentralize care and increase medical staff to meet regional challenges.
