Medical expert discusses causes of nighttime palpitations

Dr. Ahmad Huraıbat from VM Medical Park Florya Hospital notes that waking up with nighttime palpitations does not always indicate heart disease. Various factors, including stress, anxiety, insomnia, excessive caffeine, and alcohol consumption, can increase heart rate and cause palpitations.

Other potential medical causes include anemia, hyperthyroidism, and various heart rhythm disorders. Medical evaluation is urgently recommended if palpitations are accompanied by chest pain, shortness of breath, severe dizziness, or fainting.
