Medical expert warns kidney failure can progress without symptoms
Internal medicine specialist and kidney and hypertension subspecialist, dr Decsa Medika Hertanto, has warned that kidney failure can often progress without noticeable symptoms. According to dr Decsa, chronic kidney disease in stages 1 through 3 is particularly dangerous because patients may feel healthy, active, and free of complaints even when kidney function has significantly declined.
Physical symptoms typically only emerge once the damage reaches advanced stages. Key indicators identified include continuous nausea and vomiting, which may be linked to uremic syndrome caused by the buildup of toxins and waste products in the blood. Other common signs include persistent fatigue and weakness.
To mitigate these risks, medical experts emphasize the importance of regular blood and urine tests to detect functional impairments in the kidneys at an early stage.
