Medical experts discuss longevity, stress, and preventative health

Medical specialists have shared various insights regarding preventative health and the management of chronic conditions. Neurologist Conrado Estol proposed a paradigm shift by defining aging as a treatable pathology. He emphasized that longevity is supported by fiber-rich diets, regular exercise, strong social ties, and stress management through mindfulness.

Cardiologist Mario Boskis warned about the severe physical consequences of chronic stress, noting it can nearly double the risk of a heart attack. He highlighted that Argentina reports a high level of perceived stress among adults.

Additionally, cardiologist Jorge Tartaglione addressed the importance of low-dose CT scans for early lung cancer detection, particularly for smokers or former smokers aged 55 to 74. He also cautioned against the non-medical use of anabolic steroids for aesthetic purposes, noting they can cause cardiac arrest, bone development issues in adolescents, and emotional instability.
