Medical experts promote preventive measures for HPV and lung health

Medical professionals are emphasizing preventive measures for major health issues, including cervical cancer and respiratory health. In Surabaya, RS Manyar Medical Centre is promoting early prevention of Human Papillomavirus (HPV) infections through increased access to HPV vaccinations. Obstetrician and gynecologist dr. Henky Mohammad Masteryanto noted that cervical cancer is the second most common cancer in Indonesia after breast cancer and often develops without easily recognizable early symptoms.

Regarding respiratory wellness, specialist Kunal Sood has identified three daily habits to optimize lung function: performing 20–30 minutes of daily cardio, practicing regular breathing exercises such as box breathing, and maintaining gut health. Sood highlighted the ‘gut-lung axis,’ noting that the gut microbiome plays a significant role in regulating immune signals that influence how the lungs respond to inflammation.
