Medical experts warn of morning habits that may reduce longevity
Medical experts are warning that certain morning routines can significantly impact long-term health and life expectancy. Dr. Junyi Shijian from China notes that excessive sleeping, specifically exceeding 8 to 9 hours, can disrupt circadian rhythms and cause hormonal imbalances.
Research published in the Journal of the American Heart Association (JAHA) indicates that adults who frequently sleep more than 9 hours per night face a 41% higher risk of cardiovascular disease and premature death compared to those getting 7 to 8 hours. Experts recommend maintaining a consistent wake-up time, ideally before 8:00 AM.
Additionally, experts advise against rising abruptly from bed to urinate immediately upon waking. Sudden postural changes after a long period of rest can increase pressure on the circulatory system and lead to orthostatic hypotension due to slowed blood circulation during sleep.
