Artificial intelligence threatens to transform hundreds of professions

The rapid advancement of artificial intelligence, blockchain, and robotics is expected to transform or eliminate hundreds of professions over the next decade, ranging from routine office tasks to analytical roles and teaching.

There are concerns that Turkey's educational and employment policies are not adequately prepared for this shift. Critics argue that the Ministry of National Education and the Council of Higher Education (YÖK) continue to offer academic programs that may lack future relevance, potentially leading to a surplus of graduates in obsolete fields.

As AI-driven personalized learning and autonomous assessment tools become more prevalent, the demand for traditional teaching models may decrease. Experts suggest that the role of educators must evolve from simple information providers to mentors who guide ethical AI use and foster critical thinking to prevent a widening skill gap.
