Medical facilities adopt advanced diagnostic imaging technologies
The Aor San Carlo di Potenza hospital in Italy has inaugurated new radiology technologies following a 2.5 million euro investment. Funded in part by the National Recovery and Resilience Plan and regional European funds, the upgrade includes two magnetic resonance imaging machines (1.5 and 3 Tesla) and a Dual Energy spectral CT scanner equipped with Artificial Intelligence. The initiative aims to improve diagnostic accuracy, patient safety, and workflow efficiency.
In the United Kingdom, Portsmouth Hospitals University NHS Trust, in partnership with Sectra, has implemented a new method for sharing point-of-care diagnostic images. This technology allows clinicians in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Queen Alexandra Hospital to share ultrasound scans in real-time with specialists across the region. This capability is designed to facilitate faster decision-making for critically ill infants, such as those with congenital heart defects or brain-related conditions.
