Medical facilities enhance specialized surgical and diagnostic capabilities
Vithas Xanit Internacional has launched a highly specialized Hepatobiliary Pancreatic (HBP) Surgery Unit in Eastern Andalusia, Spain. Coordinated by Dr. Jorge Roldán de la Rúa, the unit focuses on complex digestive pathologies involving the liver, pancreas, biliary tract, and stomach. The unit utilizes minimally invasive and robotic surgery technologies to treat both benign and malignant conditions, such as hepatocarcinoma and pancreatic tumors.
In Argentina, the Hospital Pediátrico Juan Pablo II has acquired new high-tech pediatric endoscopy equipment for its Gastroenterology and Pediatric Hepatology Service. The new video endoscopy tower includes components for both upper endoscopy (esophagus, stomach, and duodenum) and lower endoscopy (colon). This equipment is intended to improve diagnostic and therapeutic precision for children, assisting in the treatment of conditions like celiac disease, gastritis, and inflammatory bowel diseases, as well as the urgent removal of ingested foreign objects.
