Medical facilities in Croatia and Montenegro receive new mammography equipment
Medical facilities in Croatia and Montenegro have received significant upgrades to their breast cancer diagnostic capabilities through donations and international cooperation.
In Mali Lošinj, Croatia, the Health Center Primorsko-goranska County received a new Mammomat Revelation mammography device valued at 192,500 euros. The equipment was funded primarily by the Islands Medical Assistance Society (I.M.A.S.), which provided 154,000 euros, while the remaining 38,500 euros were covered by the health center. This donation aims to improve the accessibility and quality of early breast cancer detection for island residents.
In Montenegro, the Clinical Center of Montenegro (KCCG) acquired a modern mobile digital mammography chair through cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA). This equipment is intended to enhance diagnostic radiology and nuclear medicine, specifically allowing for more precise positioning during mammography, stereotaxy, and complex biopsy procedures. The upgrade is expected to allow complex biopsies that were previously performed abroad to be conducted locally.
