Medical helicopter transports pregnant woman from Pazardzhik to Sofia

A 35-year-old pregnant woman in critical condition was emergency-transported via medical helicopter from Pazardzhik to Sofia. The helicopter landed at Georgi Benkovski Stadium to facilitate the transfer to Alexandrovska Hospital for specialized treatment.

Medical professionals identified a rare and life-threatening blood disorder characterized by the formation of small clots in the blood vessels, which poses a risk of severe organ damage. Although the patient's previous two pregnancies were uncomplicated, this third pregnancy has been complicated by the sudden onset of the disease.

The emergency operation involved consultations with hematology expert Professor Mihaylov and Associate Professor Yordanka Yamakova. The executive director of Pazardzhik Hospital, Dr. Krasimir Temnilov, coordinated with the Ministry of Health to ensure the necessary medical support for the transfer.
