Medical institutions in Dominican Republic announce new leadership and members

In Santo Domingo, the Dominican Medical College (CMD) held elections for the Council of Specialized Medical Societies. The Slate No. 2 won the election with 19 votes, appointing a new four-member board consisting of Dr. Maribel Jorge García, Dr. Luis Vladimir Restituyo Medrano, Dr. José Rafael Arias Sánchez, and Dr. Betssy Hazoury. The new leadership was sworn in by CMD President Dr. Luis Alberto Peña Núñez.

Separately, the Dominican Academy of Medicine inducted five new members during a ceremony at the Casa de las Academias. The new members, recognized for their professional trajectories and scientific contributions, are Dr. Plutarco Arias Arias, Dr. Wendy Cristhyna Gómez, Dr. Rosa Tertulién Marichal, Dr. Ysabel Tejeda Díaz, and Dr. Manuel Patete Ayala. Academy President Dr. Reynolds Pérez Estefan emphasized the institution's mission to promote ethical medical practice and scientific development in the Dominican Republic.
