Medical missions provide specialized healthcare services in Ecuador
Medical teams are conducting specialized healthcare missions in Ecuador. In Guayaquil, a group of 24 medical professionals from the United States, part of the organization Project Perfect World, has arrived to perform pediatric orthopedic surgeries. Working alongside staff at the Hospital de Niños Dr. Roberto Gilbert, the mission continues a medical cooperation that has lasted over two decades.
In the Esmeraldas province, the Junta de Beneficencia de Guayaquil led a three-day medical intervention in the San Lorenzo canton, specifically targeting remote river-access communities such as Palma Real, Tambillo, and Pampanal de Bolívar. The mission provided 67 pterygium surgeries using a portable operating room installed at an Ecuadorian Navy facility. Additionally, the team provided 429 dental consultations, distributed 133 reading glasses, and provided support tools for 25 people with disabilities.
