Medical professionals advance liver transplant cooperation in Córdoba
Surgeons from the Hospital Privado de Córdoba, Enzo Giordano and Martín Maraschio, visited the Hospital Central ‘Dr. Ramón Carrillo’ (HCRC) to advance a cooperation agreement for the development of a Liver Transplant Program and Unit.
During the visit, the specialists inspected critical areas including operating rooms, intensive care, and imaging facilities to assess the infrastructure and supplies required to launch the unit. The goal of the collaboration is to create a sustainable multidisciplinary transplant program.
In a related development regarding medical challenges in the region, prominent Santiago del Estero psychiatrist Claudio Alejandro Maravilla has passed away. Maravilla had been hospitalized in Córdoba for several months while awaiting a hepatorenal transplant. His medical progress was complicated by the diagnosis of an intestinal adenocarcinoma, which required surgical intervention prior to his eligibility for the transplant waiting list.
