Medical professionals in Italy face leadership changes and new specialization opportunities

In Lombardy, Anna Pozzi has been elected as the new secretary of FIMMG Lombardia. Key priorities include strengthening the relationship between family doctors and citizens, reorganizing medical offices with more staff, and integrating digital tools such as telemedicine and artificial intelligence to reduce administrative burdens.

In the Friuli Venezia Giulia region, health assessor Riccardo Riccardi announced new specialization opportunities for medical graduates from the University of Trieste. Cardiology departments in Gorizia and Monfalcone (San Giovanni and San Polo facilities) have been added to the network for medical residents. To support this, the region is planning additional scholarships and orientation programs to make the profession more attractive, noting that the current medical workforce has a high average age.
