Medical professionals in Turkey perform successful complex surgeries
Medical professionals in Turkey have successfully performed complex surgeries on two patients facing life-threatening conditions.
In Muş, 32-year-old Faruk Akdeniz was treated for a brain hemorrhage caused by an arteriovenous malformation, a tangle of blood vessels. Following surgery performed by neurosurgeon Op. Dr. Evren Duran at Muş State Hospital, the patient regained consciousness without permanent neurological damage or loss of motor function and was discharged after six days.
Separately, at Başakşehir Çam ve Sakura City Hospital, 21-year-old Nisanur Deniz underwent a high-risk, eight-hour heart surgery. Deniz, who was born with a congenital heart defect involving underdeveloped pulmonary arteries, had previously been told no further surgical options were available. Associate Professor Dr. Muhammet Hamza Halil Toprak and his team successfully performed a shunt surgery without stopping the patient's heart, increasing her oxygen levels from 40 percent to over 80 percent.
