Medical professionals in Vietnam treat airway obstruction and ocular tumor
Medical professionals in Vietnam have successfully treated two patients for serious conditions involving foreign objects and tumors.
At Hung Vuong Gia Lai Hospital, a 62-year-old man suffering from a month of coughing, phlegm, and shortness of breath was found to have a bone fragment lodged deep in his left main bronchus. The object caused airway obstruction and bronchitis. Doctors performed a bronchoscopy to remove the fragment and clear the obstruction.
Separately, at Nghe An Friendship General Hospital, surgeons performed microsurgery on a 45-year-old woman who had lost her vision due to a 1 x 1.5 cm tumor located deep behind the eyeball. The tumor had been compressing the optic nerve. Doctors emphasized the importance of early diagnosis for symptoms such as bulging eyes or vision changes to prevent permanent damage.
