Medical shortages reported in Montesilvano and Valduggia
Healthcare services are facing disruptions in several Italian regions due to the departure of general practitioners. In Montesilvano, Dr. Daniela Anselmi will cease her role as a general practitioner with the ASL of Pescara effective November 1. Patients are advised to select a new physician through the Abruzzo Sanità On Line platform or at local service centers to ensure continuity of care.
In Valduggia, the community is facing a shortage of primary care doctors following the decision of Lucrezia Marchitelli not to continue her service. Mayor Luca Chiara noted that the shortage will particularly impact elderly residents and those with limited mobility. To mitigate the issue, the municipal clinic has reopened to provide blood collection services, with hopes that it will be approved as a district clinic by the ASL of Vercelli by December.
