Medical specialists convene in Málaga for respiratory and neurological conferences
Medical professionals have gathered in Málaga, Spain, for two significant scientific conferences focused on chronic disease management.
The Costa del Sol University Hospital, in collaboration with the Foundation for Research in Málaga in Biomedicine and Health (FIMABIS), hosted the III Update Conference on the Integral Approach to Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD). The event brought together specialists in medicine, nursing, and physiotherapy to discuss personalized treatments, early detection of genetic alterations, and the impact of environmental factors and climate change on respiratory symptoms. Discussions also covered the relationship between gut health and COPD, as well as the use of telerehabilitation.
Simultaneously, the Regional University Hospital of Málaga hosted the 48th Annual Meeting of the Andalusian Society of Neurology (SAN). Attended by nearly 300 professionals, including neurologists, psychiatrists, and researchers, the meeting focused on precision neurology and the application of biomarkers for diseases such as Parkinson’s, Alzheimer’s, and multiple sclerosis. The program addressed various conditions, including epilepsy, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), stroke, and cognitive impairment.
