Medical specialists in Castilla-La Mancha focus on sensory health and trauma care

Medical specialists in Castilla-La Mancha are addressing critical aspects of healthcare, ranging from neurodegeneration to emergency trauma response.

The Royal Academy of Medicine of Castilla-La Mancha, in collaboration with the University of Castilla-La Mancha, is organizing a scientific conference in Albacete. The event focuses on the relationship between sensory loss—specifically hearing and vision—and cognitive decline or dementia in aging populations. Experts will examine the neurological mechanisms connecting the senses to the brain and explore how intervening in sensory health might preserve cognitive function.

In Guadalajara, the Institute of Neurological Diseases hosted the 632nd national edition of the American College of Surgeons ‘Advanced Trauma Life Support’ (ATLS) course. This three-day training program provided 16 medical professionals from various Spanish regions with essential skills for the initial care of polytrauma patients. The course aims to improve systematic and coordinated responses in critical medical situations.
