Medical students rescue tourist in Tatra Mountains
Two medical students from the Silesian Medical University, identified as fifth-year student Michał Kula and third-year student Bartosz Antonik, provided emergency assistance to a tourist in the Tatra Mountains.
On September 14, a tourist fell approximately 20 meters on the trail to Rysy, sustaining serious head injuries. The students provided aid to the injured individual until a Tatra Volunteer Search and Rescue (TOPR) helicopter arrived at the scene. Following the rescue operation, the two students continued their hike and reached the summit of Rysy.
The university launched a social media appeal to identify the students after a witness contacted the institution to express gratitude. The appeal went viral, and the university has since confirmed their identities and is preparing a surprise to thank them for their decisive actions.
