Medical studies highlight new treatments for fatty liver and blood pressure

New medical research highlights effective approaches for managing metabolic health issues prevalent in Germany. Regarding metabolic fatty liver, which affects approximately one in four German adults, an observational study published in the journal ‘Obesity’ suggests that the drugs semaglutide and tirzepatide may help stop its progression in patients with obesity and type 2 diabetes. The study utilized data from the TriNetX network over a 17-month period.

In terms of cardiovascular health, a meta-analysis of 270 controlled studies involving nearly 16,000 participants found that isometric exercises, such as the wall sit, are highly effective at lowering resting blood pressure. The research indicates that static holding exercises outperformed traditional endurance training in reducing systolic blood pressure by an average of eight points and diastolic blood pressure by four points. Specifically, the wall sit was identified as a top exercise for reducing systolic pressure, which can significantly lower the risk of stroke and heart attack.
